District Energy+Water Academy

An executive level intensive to accelerate urban energy and water solutions at the district scale

The inaugural District Energy+Water Academy was held November 2-4, 2016 in Vancouver, BC.

Interest has significantly grown in the role that district energy and water systems can play in sustainable city design. However, city leaders, developers, utilities, and community stakeholders lack shared knowledge and practical expertise to effectively scale solutions beyond the building.

The inaugural DE+WA brought executive-level project teams and leaders together to address core challenges in district-scale project feasibility, financing, policy regulations, and marketability through an intensive executive level peer-learning experience. This three-day intensive drew decision-makers from city government, utilities, infrastructure development, real estate, community development, higher education, and corporate campus design.
